A little bit about Peter Stringfellow (who sadly passed away on the 7th of June 2018) and the club.
Peter owned clubs all way back to 1962. Back then he booked the likes of The Beatles, The Kinks, Jimi Hendrix, Little Stevie Wonder, The Who – in fact just about every iconic rock band you can think of – to play at his clubs!
In 1980 Peter opened Stringfellows in Covent Garden, London – and it very quickly became the club to see and be seen in.
Over the years his clubs have become the stuff of legend – he owned clubs in New York, Miami, Beverly Hills and also Dublin and Paris. And let’s not forget The Hippodrome of Leicester Square.
Fast forward to the present day and Stringfellows Covent Garden is still the world’s most famous nightclub.
These days we no longer have live music at the club, but those rock stars still keep coming. Prince, the late Marvin Gaye, Rod Stewart, Tom Jones – in fact far too many to mention! And of course there are the famous actors, sports stars, celebrity chefs – you name them – they’ve probably been here. Even the late Professor Stephen Hawking! Peter wanted to talk to Stephen about the universe – but he was more interested in the girls!
Stringfellows Covent Garden is without a doubt the premier gentlemens’ club in the world.
Enjoy the site, and we look forward to welcoming you to the club.
