Piers Morgan’s now infamous Morgan Awards

Piers Morgan’s now infamous Morgan AwardsAs you know Bella and I get invited to lots of very special events but come Christmas time overload steps in. The one we had to accept was from Piers Morgan himself for the now infamous Morgan Awards.

This is where Piers awards various celebrities some very rude awards. For instance “The Most Stupid Quote Of The Year Award” which went to Amanda Holden. He then awarded himself the “Arse-licking Of The Year Award” for being so nice to his boss Simon Cowell who was also there on the night.

Amongst the other big names of the night were Lily Allen, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, Cilla Black, Sir Alan Sugar and Lady Ann Sugar - his wife Ronnie Corbett and Anne Hart his wife, Freddie Flintoff and Bruno the judge from Strictly come dancing and Jordan herself Katie Price and many, many others.

The event was held at The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, Knightsbridge.

Now believe it or not but I think the classiest couple of the night was Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy and I had a quick chat about the last time we met which was in New York about 15 years ago. He was getting out of the cab to come into my club and I took the same cab. Ozzy of course said he remembered it, which I doubt because he was so out of it. I don’t think he knew he was in New York let alone about to come into my club. I also told Cilla Black a story from 1963 when my brother Jeff Stringfellow and I compered a show in Coventry where she was starring top of the bill. This was a show put together by Brian Epstein but sadly Cilla couldn’t remember it.

Many people are called legends but Ronnie Corbett surely is a genuine one. He and his lovely wife Anne Hart were in my opinion the true stars of the night.

Yes and of course we had a chat with Katie Price, well let’s say it was a one sided chat once she found out that Bella and I were married she called me a ‘lucky bastard’, but by now she was well away and had started singing in the ladies loo.

Of course Piers Morgan and I go back to the early 1980’s when he was jut a club reporter for the Sun. And as he likes to tell everybody - I have given him three of the best five nights of his life.
